Sunderland Software City: Recruitment Open Day

Sunderland Software City began in 2008 with the aim of growing the software sector in the North East of England. Now in 2017, we have over 2,500 software companies across the region employing in excess of 30,000 people.

We now also host one of only 4 local Digital Catapult Centres across the UK and are focused on ensuring digital innovation underpins the growth of companies across every sector.

To continue to deliver an exceptional level of support we are looking to add two members to our team:

Communications Manager (salary £32,000 – £40,000 p.a.)

Telling people about what we do, and what the companies we work with do, is vital to our future success. You will have an excellent understanding of why communications strategies are developed and how to deliver them with real effect. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for working directly with clients, delivering events and managing sub-contracts.

Business Support Specialist (salary £28,000 – £36,000 p.a.)

This is a new role to support the direct delivery of support to businesses across the region. You will be someone who is happy to engage businesses on a daily basis , understand their needs and help them succeed. You will also be the type of person who can help develop new models of business support to meet the ever-changing needs of tech companies.

Both of these posts are funded until 30th September 2018 (with possibility of extension)

5G Project Director (£45k – £60k)

SSC is working in partnership with the North East LEP, North East Combined Authority, Nexus, the Digital Catapult and a myriad of other partners to ensure the North East becomes a viable test-bed option for international 5G trials.

In order to help achieve the vision of the partners, we are looking recruit a 5G Project Director to engage a wide range of stakeholders and drive forward a business plan for future investment into a North East 5G test-bed. You will manage a small team and have a proven track record in communications infrastructure strategy and ensuing roll out. This role will be an initial 12-month contract with possible extension.
