The Company and Roles
Sunderland Software City began in 2008 with the aim of growing the software sector in the North East of England. Now in 2017, we have over 2,500 software companies across the region employing in excess of 30,000 people.
We now also host one of only 4 local Digital Catapult Centres across the UK and are focused on ensuring digital innovation underpins the growth of companies across every sector.
To continue to deliver an exceptional level of support we are looking to add three members to our team:
- Communications Manager (£32k – £40k) – telling people about what we do, and what the companies we work with do, is vital to our future success. You will have an excellent understanding of why communications strategies are developed and how to deliver them with real effect. As senior member of the team, you will be responsible for working directly with clients, delivering events and managing sub-contracts. This role will run through until the end of September 2018 (with possible extension). Previous applicants need not reapply but will be considered.
- Engagement & Events Specialist (£20k – £25k) – this is a new role to support the planning direct delivery of events across the region. You will someone with a creative side, happy to engage people and have great attention to detail. You will be the organisational lead for our work in the National Virtual Incubator (NVI) network. This role will run through until the end of September 2018 (with possible extension).
- Office Manager (£20k – £25k) – this role will play a pivotal part of SSC moving forward. As the main point of contact in the office for coordinating diaries, meeting rooms, IT support, finance monitoring and procurement you must be organised and creative in your way of thinking. This role will also be responsible for the development of our hot-desking offer and Free Fridays activity.
The Sunderland Software City (phase 3) project and the above roles are part financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) programme that is managed by the Department for Communities and Local Government
