One of the biggest challenges when it comes to the wider adoption of immersive technologies is the absence of demonstrable content. There are many theoretical examples of how new technologies could help organisations create an innovative advantage, but many organisations aren’t looking for something completely new. Instead, they’re looking for tangible examples that can be adopted within their own organisations to suit their corporate goals. At the same time, there are developers with relevant demos who could respond to this demand and help fill this gap in content.
That’s why, as part of Digital Catapult NETV, we’ve decided to introduce quarterly immersive showcases. The showcases serve as opportunity for developers to demonstrate relevant demos to new audiences and prospective clients, while non-immersive professionals can explore the tangible applications and benefits of immersive technologies within their respective businesses.
To make the events relevant, each quarterly showcase will be focused on a specific, niche theme. Our first one, dubbed the Immersive for Brands Showcase, will be focused on the application of immersive technologies within marketing. The event is set to take place on 25th March from 4pm at PROTO, the centre for emerging technologies.
The Immersive for Brands Showcase
The Immersive for Brands Showcase is the first showcase to take place and provides an opportunity for communications professionals to explore the power of using immersive technology as an innovative way of marketing brands. The event will shine a spotlight on the importance of creating a unique and memorable branded experience through new technologies. Digital Catapult NETV will also be hosting speed demos from companies currently creating tools and content that demonstrate the power of immersive experiences in marketing.
Apply to showcase your demo
Every showcase will feature a new “call for demos” to ensure the content is relevant to the specific theme. Applications for the Immersive for Brand showcase are now live and will close on February 21st. Alongside relevance to the theme, the criteria for showcase applicants will include the company’s ability to take on prospective clients, previous experience, and their ability to display a relevant demo. Alongside showcasing their demos to new audiences, showcase companies will benefit from blog coverage on our website and further exposure as a good content example through the immersive lab.
