North East-based Web Marketing Software Company Raises £400,000

Angel CoFund, Rivers Capital & TRI Capital invest in 4th aspect

North East-based web marketing software company 4th aspect has closed a £400,000 funding round.  The investment gives 4th aspect the ability to complete on its sales strategy and scale the business to achieve its planned growth.

Having already secured £250,000 of investment from Rivers Capital Partners and Tweed Renaissance Investors Capital (“TRI Capital”) earlier this year, the investment from the Angel CoFund has now enabled completion of the round, taking total investment into the business since its inception to approx. £750,000.

4th aspect’s web marketing software streamlines the process of web marketing and gets brands and products in front of potential customers and ahead of competitors.  The software will be used by a diverse range of companies from dedicated online businesses through to high street retailers’ online operations – in fact, any business that is serious about marketing their brand and selling products via the Internet.

4th aspect was founded by husband and wife team, Claire and Dave Glynn, who set up the company in 2010 following the sale of their previous web agency after 8 years.  The couple saw a gap in the market for a serious web marketing software tool that offered more than just analytics.  The company now employs 7 people, including the two founder directors, and were recently joined by experienced software executive Neil Jolliffe as Sales Director.  Neil brings a wealth of experience in international software sales.

George Whitehead, Chairman, Angel CoFund said, “The Angel CoFund makes investments alongside business angels into SMEs from across the UK.  Our aims are to both support angel investing, and to get cash to good businesses that can truly use the money to scale up.  We are delighted to be able to work with the TriCap angels and to invest in 4th aspect, a business that we believe has real potential, and we look forward to watching the team there go from strength to strength.”
