‍The region’s economy has clear growth potential in STEM areas but developing a skills pipeline is one of the keys to unlocking development in the sectors such as manufacturing, engineering and technology.Inspire North of Tyne aims to tackle the potential skills shortage by engaging the regions young people and challenging the misconceptions with regular information updates, insight sessions, STEM clubs, enterprise mornings, and readying students for employment with mock-interviews.

One of the core aims of the activities is to raise the aspirations of learners, aged 11 to 16. By holding a wide range of programme activities throughout the year, including in-school design-challenges and workshops, pathways are created between to students and the careers opportunities that lie in the STEM industries.
