MAADIGITAL, Northeast's leading experts in immersive digital tech with 25+ years of experience, partnered with Alnwick Gardens to create unforgettable augmented reality experiences and increase visitor engagement.

Who are MAADIGITAL?

MAADIGITAL are the Northeast’s premier experts in cutting edge immersive digital technology. With over 25 years of experience, they are the go-to agency for expertise in immersive experiences like digital twins, simulation, immersive landscapes, augmented, virtual and mixed reality, app design and development, 3D design, animation and video production.

What was the challenge?

The Alnwick Garden wished to create an immersive experience to attract more visitors and provide them with new unforgettable experiences for the whole family.

How did Sunderland Software City Help?

Alex Cook, Head of Innovation Delivery at Sunderland Software City, hosted a call for innovation for The Alnwick Garden. The goal was to attract local immersive agencies to get creative in order to win the bid. The winner of this challenge was of course MAADIGITAL.

What was the solution?

MAADIGITAL created an immersive augmented reality trail to follow within their LetsARgo app. This was such a success especially because the app uses GPS which negates low or no data coverage areas, which there are plenty of in Northumberland. This also led to the creation of several mini trials around the whole of the North East in support of the yearly TechNExt festival.

Vicky Hunter at MAADIGITAL said:

“It’s been a pleasure working with Sunderland Software City, who through their technical matchmaking have put us in touch with organisations we have been able to deliver unforgettable immersive experiences for and build lasting relationships.
We hope to continue working with SSC and build further relationships in the future. It's refreshing to work with people who truly embody their goal of improving the North East tech sector for all.”
